EXCLUSIVE: Pescara decide against signing Benevento loan flop Abdallah Basit

Published on: 09 June 2021

Italian outfit Pescara have decided against re-engaging Ghanaian midfielder Abdallah Basit after failing to impress on loan, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.

The 21-year-old, who is originally owned by Benevento, failed to impress and will not get a contract renewal.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands that the Serie C outfit have been left bitterly disappointed by the Ghanaian since his arrival from Campania in  February,  and feel he has done nowhere near enough to earn a permanent switch.

Benevento are said to have no intention of entering into negotiations with Pescara over a transfer fee for the midfielder, and will happily allow him to return to his parent club following the expiration of his loan deal.

Benevento have set their eyes elsewhere with the Ghanaian expected to return to his parent club.

Basit was a massive flop at the club and will have to improve, and fast to cement a place in the Pescara set-up or get shipped out on another loan expedition.

Pescara have targeted some of the best elements of the Abruzzese Primavera including the 2003 class defender Gianluca Longobardi, the 2002 class left wing Nicolas Mercato and the 2002 class right wing Marco Chiarella.

Basit has played most of his career in Italy. He has played for the Carpi youth team in the past.
