Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal that Premier League new comers Techiman City FC bagged a whopping sum of GHC57,000 from the gates after their league opener with Berekum Chelsea at the Nana Ameyaw Park.

Reports from Techiman indicated that the Nana Ameyaw Park was completely full as the fans re-lived football in the area.

The management of Techiman City rented additional 2000 chairs to supplement the existing 1600 chairs to provide comfort for the fans.

Gate fees of GHC20.00 and GHC15.00 were charged but the amazing Techiman people patronized the game compelling the President of the club to describe the match as a Category A match.

Even though the President of the club, Charles Kwadwo Ntim [Micky Charles] declined to comment on the total amount realized from gates, sources close to the security at the gates disclosed that a gross of GHC57,000 was realized from the gates.

Micky Charles however confirmed that they charged GHC20.00 and GHC15.00 at the gates and also confirmed the 2000 chairs hired.

He further disclosed that the Park could have seen a double of the number but for the presence of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in Techiman.

“Many people even went to where the president was and that aided us in reducing the number either than that the chairs wouldn’t have been enough.

We however hope to increase the chairs in our next home game to accommodate the fans,” Micky Charles disclosed.

The GHC57,000 realised from the gates is an indication of how hungry the people are football as some big clubs in the country struggle to realize that in their home matches.

Techiman City won the game by a lone goal courtesy Berekum Chelsea former striker Issaka Ibrahim.
