28-year-old striker Radamel Falcao was ultimatley denied the opportunity to re-join former club Atletico Madrid when the transfer of Atletico's Jackson Martinez to China fell through.
The Chelsea striker is believed to have been in Madrid yesterday with the hopes of completing a season long loan, however circumstances elsewhere meant the deal was unable to be finalised. Falcao has scored only one goal in fifteen appearances for Chelsea.
