Ghana captain Mensah claims he's fit to face Tunisia

Ghana captain John Mensah has declared himself fit to play in Sunday's Nations Cup quarter-final clash against Tunisia.

The Lyon player suffered a thigh injury during Ghana's tournament opener against Botswana.

He missed the second match against Mali due to suspension but was unfit for the final Group match against Guinea last Wednesday.

Mensah's return will be a major boost to the Ghana backline with his experience against a skillful Tunisian side.

The experienced defender claims he has regained his fitness to spearhead Ghana's progress to the semi-final.

"I'm fine now and I have been doing a few personal training outside," Mensah said at Saturday's pre-match conference.

"When I had the problem, the doctor told how long I will spend on the sidelines but I didn't want to risk it in training but right now I'm fine."

Mensah is likely to partner Isaac Vorsah in central defence with John Boye, who has been revelation at the tournament benched.
