Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has ensured dropped players for next month's 2014 World Cup qualifiers double-header they are still part of his plans.

Appiah cut down a 30-man provisional squad to 24 for their opener against Lesotho at the Baba Yara Stadium on June 1.

The six players axed included two foreign-based players Ishmael Yartey and Masahudu Alhassan.

Others are Wa All Stars goalkeeper Robert Dabuo, Solomon Asante, Rashid Sumaila and Emmanuel Baffour.

''I want to thank all my players especially the six who are not part of the final team for their performance and dedication during our training sessions,'' Appiah told Ghanafa.org, the official website of the Ghana Football Association.

''It was a difficult decision to take because all the players did very well in training but the squad has to be named.

''I want to assure the six players that the doors of the national team are still open for them. They should continue to work hard as they could be considered in future.''

Ghana will also play African champions Zambia at the newly-constructed Levy Mwanawasa Stadium`in Ndola.
