Ghana need six points to edge South Africa to qualify for World Cup qualifying play-offs
Black Stars

Ghana national team will require six points from their two games with Ethiopia as well as South Africa in their 2022 World Cup qualifiers this week for them to edge the Bafana Bafana to make it to the play-offs next year.

After the Black Stars took part in a World Cup for the first time in 2006 and were able to confirm the qualification with the participation in 2010 and 2014, there is now a threat of another end in the World Cup qualifying after 2018.

However, it is positive that Milovan Rajevac's team is completely in their own hands. With two wins on Thursday and Sunday, the Ghanaians can at least make it to the decisive playoffs in Africa.

Bafana have enjoyed a remarkable run through the group stage to date.

They're on top of the standings for Group G having a total of 10 points thanks to a double victory over Ethiopia as well as a single victory against Ghana in addition to a draw against Zimbabwe far from their home.

However, they'll be aware that they're not completely home and dry now - particularly when they have their fellow Black Stars breathing down their necks.

Ghana is second in the table with nine points. They'll have to play their hearts out in their two games and pray that Bafana's performance isn't too bad as well.
