Ghanaian defender Joseph-Claude Gyau signs for Degerfors IF in Sweden

American-born Ghanaian defender Joseph-Claude Gyau has signed for Swedish Allsvenskan outfit Degerfors IF, the club have announced.

The 29-year-old is joining Degerfors from FC Cincinnati in the USA and has penned a two-year contract keep him at the club until 2024.

Gyau has previously represented clubs such as TSG Hoffenheim, St. Pauli, Borussia Dortmund II, Sonnenhof Großaspach and MSV Duisburg in Germany.

He returned to the United States in August 2019 to continue in the MLS with Cincinnati.

Gyan has done a lot of youth internationals and has four international caps for the United States.

Gyau is currently in Cincinnati and will arrive in Sweden on Saturday to begin his new adventure.

He starts training with the team on Monday, after which medical check-ups and paperwork remain.

Hopefully, Gyau is ready to play for the match against IF Elfsborg on March 6.
