Following the World Cup trophy's arrival in Ghana on Saturday, a Ghanaian clergyman prayed over it.

The World Cup trophy arrived in Ghana for a two-day tour as part of FIFA's efforts to raise awareness of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

On Saturday, ex-France forward David Trezeguet arrived with the trophy and was greeted by Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif and Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku.

However, in a social media video, a pastor who was present for the viewing of the golden gong used the opportunity to pray for the Black Stars to win the trophy and return it to Ghana in December.

"We pray this time that this cup you will go and return back to Ghana for a good celebration. We prophesy in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen,” prayed the man known as Pastor Sammy.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group H at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and will face Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
