Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad has revealed why he joined King Faisal on loan in the just-ended season despite receiving offers from other clubs.

The youngster joined the ‘Insha Allah’ boys on loan in search of regular playing time.

Danlad, adjudged the Best goalkeeper at the AFCON U20 tournament said joining King Faisal was a risk considering their level on the league table at the time.

“Before I was about to go on loan there were many clubs that wanted my services Aduana Stars, Karela United and many others. But my manager, a former player of King Faisal spoke to me that I should go to the club and take the risk with the players over there”, he told Happy FM.

“It was a difficult situation over there but when we went there God has been good and we survived relegation”.

Danlad stated a permanent move to King Faisal will be decided by his parent club Asante Kotoko and his managers.

“On paper, I have to go back to Asante Kotoko. It was a half-season loan spell and if King Faisal is interested they have to write to the club”.

“I am a footballer and if they come on board my management team will decide”.
