Great Olympics striker Maxwell Abbey Quaye debuted for the Black Stars on Wednesday against Algeria in Doha, Qatar

Quaye came off the bench in the second half of the pre-Africa Cup of Nations friendly match played at the Education City Stadium.

He was unlucky not to score as a clearance by Algeria goalkeeper Raïs M'Bolhi hit his head but missed the target narrowly.

The 23-year-old is part of the final squad and is heading to his first major tournament with the national team.

He earned a deserved call-up due to his exploits in the Ghana Premier League having scored seven goals.
