King Faisal forward Osman Ibrahim is calling for the cancellation of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League due to the position of his club on the table.

There has been calls for the league to be ended following the outbreak of the coronavirus in Ghana, with medical experts insisting it will be unsafe to return to playing anytime soon.

The topflight has been suspended since March after President Akufo Addo announced the banning of all social gatherings including sporting activities.

The ban for Osman Ibrahim is a blessing in disguise for struggling King Faisal as he calls for the end of the campaign.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of problems but as King Faisal we are much elated, it has helped and favoured us a lot. But for this disease, the position of King Faisal on the league log would have brought a lot of issues,” says the attacker.

“Personally, considering the position of King Faisal I want the league canceled. I am in a fine form but due to our inability to win matches my performance has been underrated," he added.

Ibrahim, who is on loan from Kotoko has scored eight times for the Kumasi based outfit.
