Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom is relishing the prospects of playing in his maiden Uefa Champions League saying, "it is the be-all and end-all" for any professional player.
The 21year-old right back was key in Swiss side FC Basel's qualification to Group stage with a 0-3 win at Moldovan side FC Sheriff on Wednesday night.
He won the League and Cup double in his first year at the club las season and sees this as a big plus in his career.
"It is the same as World Cup and I believe that the Champions League also you get a lot of exposure, you will be well know and this is the highest thing in football. Everybody wants to play in Champions League so I believe it's a good achievement," Inkoom told Ghanasoccernet.com
Inkoom was a member of Ghana's World Cup squad that reached the quarter-final at the 2010 Fifa World Cup finals in South Africa.
He has been invited for next week's 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Swaziland in Mbabane.
