Inter legend demands players take responsibility

Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti has called on the players to take responsibility after defeat to Juventus.

A volley from Leonardo Bonucci gave the Bianconeri the lead before Alvaro Morata completed the win from the penalty spot.

“The defeat is very hard for us to take, Juventus are strong and we were burdened by the responsibility,” Zanetti told Premium Sport.

“We need to give that something extra on the pitch, it’s important to shoulder the responsibility and give everything we can.”

Defeats to city rivals AC Milan and more recently Fiorentina has seen the Nerazzurri drop from their lofty Serie A position.

“We need to return to being solid and have greater certainty in our abilities,” Zanetti added. “”We were great before Christmas, we were first.

“It’s time to show personality and not allow this bad period to be prolonged.”

Inter are now only a point ahead of city rivals Milan in the Serie A standings.
