Inter look to sell trio of defenders

Inter are preparing for a club imposed defensive exodus in an attempt to balance the books.

Several members of club management have admitted to the necessity of trimming the squad in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Il Corriere della Sera reports there will be three sacrifices to the backline, namely Andrea Ranocchia, Nemanja Vidic and Dodo.

With the success of Miranda and Murillo at the heart of the Nerazzurri defence so far this season, ex-captain Ranocchia has been relegated to the bench, appearing in only ten matches thus far and the former Bari man has been used primarily as a substitute.

The towering Italian has reportedly received interest from Bologna and Lazio as well as English side Everton.

Vidic has endured a fruitless year and a half in Milan, plagued by injuries and a slow acclimation to Italian football.

The 34-year-old has been linked to a return to the Premier League with ex-club Manchester United, as well as Everton and Aston Villa interested in the former Serbian international.

Dodo is on the back end of a two-year loan from Roma but a significant knee injury has seen him fall behind Alex Telles, Yuto Nagatomo, Davide Santon and Juan Jesus in the pecking order at left-back.

Because the purchase from Roma is mandatory at the end of the season, the deal cannot be terminated.

Inter must therefore look to loan out the 23-year-old, with Hellas Verona apparently showing interest.
