INTER MILAN boss CONTE: "The whole team was subpar today. This isn't the football we want to play"

Commenting upon the disappointing home tie against Slavia Prague, Inter Milan boss, Antonio Conte, stated: "Slavia Prague attacked us with intensity, and showed a ruthless streak in doing so. We didn’t do well in terms of finding the right solutions, and struggled too much. I can’t be down and satisfied with the performance, because we didn’t show how we want to play. I’m the one who’s primarily responsible, both in terms of the selections made, and because I obviously didn’t make the lads understand what I wanted from them well enough.

We could have done a lot more. I'm accountable, because this isn’t the kind of football we want to play, nor the reason why we train. We also need to improve our character, which is why I talk about the ‘journey’ we’re on. The guys need to remain calm, these are normal steps when you’re growing. I’m not going to talk about individuals because the whole team was subpar today. The group needs to continue to work, and my job is to make them improve. This is why I’m here”.
