Hearts of Oak legend Ismael Addo is amazed his goal scoring record in the Ghanaian top flight is still intact after eleven years.

Emmanuel Baffour came closest to equaling the record which stands at 22 goals in a single season by banging in 21 goals with three matches to go in the just ended campaign.

The New Edubiase striker’s shuffling in and out of Europe for trials eventually proved a great hindrance to his ambition of breaking and setting a new Premier League goal scoring record – something that amazes Addo whose goal scoring record in three seasons stands at 60.

“I was hoping that at least someone could have equaled or even broken one of my records,” he told Accra-based Radio XYZ.

“Records are meant to be broken. I heard someone was getting closer, getting the opportunity but rather unfortunately he was unable to break it.”

Addo will join a host of his Hearts of Oak teammates in the late 90’s and early 2000’s to line up against the Black Stars in a charity match to honour legend Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefio on Fridat at the Accra Sports Stadium.
