Italy-born forward Emmanuel Gyasi handed Ghana debut at first attempt

Italy-born Emmanuel Gyasi has been named in the starting lineup of the Black Stars for their crunch 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications game on Thursday.

The Spezia Calcio player has been named by head coach CK Akonnor for the fixture against South Africa at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Gyasi was called up for the first time in his career ahead of the matches against South Africa and Sao Tome.

The 27-year-old winger will be hoping to cement his position in the Ghana team by impressing on his debut.

Gyasi is having an outstanding campaign in the Serie A this season having scored 4 goals and provided 5 assists in 28 appearances.
