Jorgensen missing for first time

Published on: 18 August 2018

Huddersfield Town will be without central defender Mathias Jorgensen for the trip to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City on Sunday.

The Denmark international will miss his first minutes of Premier League action since joining the Terriers last summer from FC Copenhagen, with Jorgensen having picked up a knock during training in the week.

You like to test yourselves against the best - Manchester City are the best.

David Wagner

Town head coach David Wagner told reporters: "At the start of the week all 23 players were healthy and available, but then Zanka in training.

"He will miss the game on Sunday, while Jonathan Hogg is doubtful with a slight hip problem."

Meanwhile, Wagner has challenged his side to impress on Sunday when they face the reigning Premier League champions, with the Yorkshiremen having claimed a goalless draw in this fixture last season.

He added: He said: "You like to test yourselves against the best - Manchester City are the best - and we will try and make it an uncomfortable afternoon for them.

"You have to be, more than ever, focused on yourself instead of your opponent. You have to prepare every player as much as you can and be tight in your gameplan.

"We have the experience that in these games you can get results and we will fight for the chance. We have to be at our best - we have to be brave too and trust our abilities and our skills."

The Terriers are priced at 12/1 to claim a draw on Sunday and 18/1 to keep a clean sheet, with the Citizens 6/1 to secure a 2-0 victory on home turf.
