Juventus set to compete with Real Madrid in race to sign Everton star

Published on: 22 March 2016

Juventus may face stiff competition from Real Madrid in their attempts to sign Everton’s star striker, Romelu Lukaku.

Having admired the 22-year-old for a considerable amount of time, it was previously thought that the Bianconeri may attempt to land Lukaku in the summer, although Madrid are now plotting an estimated €75 million bid for the Belgium international.

The Sun have confirmed these latest reports, stressing that the Spanish giants are keen to outbid their nearest competitors, which could include the reigning Italian champions, Juventus.

Furthermore, it has also been stated that the former Chelsea man is considering his options due to Everton’s impending failure to ensure Champions League football for next season.

The Bianconeri had considered a move for Lukaku prior to the January transfer window, although the lucrative move never materialised.

The towering forward has been in fine form for The Toffees this season, having scored 18 goals in only 29 Premier League appearances.
