Karela United midfielder Umar Basiru is excited to emerge man of match on his debut in the Ghana Premier League against AshantiGold SC.
Basiru put in excellent performance when Karela held AshantiGold to a 2-2 draw on Sunday in the season's opener.
The former WAFA SC player set up the second goal for his club at the Len Clay stadium.
"I am very happy to win the man of the match award and also assist the second goal for my team," Basiru told reporters.
"But the most important thing is we have gotten a point because we played well and I am very happy for that."
Basiru, 23, joined Karela ahead of the 2020/2021 season after leaving Asante Kotoko in July 2019.
