LIGUE 1 - Verratti faces four weeks out due to hip injury

Published on: 26 October 2021

Marco Verratti, a midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain and Italy, will miss four weeks after damaging his hip in a 0-0 draw with Marseille over the weekend, according to his club.

After missing a month of the season due to a knee injury, Verratti was replaced late in the first half of Sunday's encounter and is expected to miss more time.

Following Italy's Euro 2020 victory, he was also given more time to heal before the start of the season.

The 28-year-old will miss games against Lille and Bordeaux in Ligue 1 as well as the Champions League fixture against RB Leipzig on November 3.

After the international break, he has a battle against time to be fit for the trip to Manchester City on November 24.
