Heart of Lions player Godfred Asante has welcomed his move to Kotoko claiming he could not have turned his back on the league champions.

The versatile player will move to Kumasi-based when the transfer window opens and will be joined by team-mate Smallboy Kobah.

Asante, a versatile player, believes he has had his wish list of playing for a top club in the Ghana Premier League.

"It's almost done now and I will be joining Kotoko for the pre-season soon and that makes me very glad because it is every footballer's dream to play for Kotoko," he told Storm FM.

"When I first heard that Kotoko needed my services, I said to myself it could be highly impossible to turn my back on them if it was really true and it has happened so am ready to prove my worth and make a name.

"Whether I can break into the squad or not is not a problem at all because I can play in about four different positions so why not."
