Liverpool plan approach to Barcelona coach Guardiola

Liverpool plan to approach departing Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.

The Sun says Guardiola tops a Kop list that also includes Wigan Athletic chief Roberto Martinez and Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers.

Kop owners Fenway Sports Group accept their chances of tempting Guardiola are slim. But they feel it would be a huge mistake not even to sound him out.

Guardiola walked away from Barca insisting he planned to take a year off and spend time with his family.

Martinez has been given a headstart as the Kop have been given permission to approach him.
