LOAN STAR OF THE WEEK: Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown helps himself to debut goal in Vitesse win

Published on: 09 March 2016

Well it was a long time coming, but Izzy Brown finally scored his debut goal for Vitesse Arnhem on Saturday.

WHAT A WIN! Very happy to score, hopefully the start of a good run

As an 18-year old moving to a foreign country, Brown has done exceptionally well since moving to the Eredivisie, making 18 league appearances, including 10 starts.

Although those statistics don't set the world on fire, Brown has been unfortunate with injuries, missing games in October and two at the start of February, which has contributed to his inability to gather consistent form in his new surroundings.

It would have been a huge relief for the Chelsea loanee when his sublime control and finish put Vitesse ahead against Roda JC on Saturday, in what would eventually be a 2-1 win for the GelreDome side following Yuning Zhang's last minute winner.

Brown's recent performance was not just a standout for his goal; he continued to play well throughout the 88 minutes he was on the pitch.

This may be the match that kick starts a renewed confidence within the youngster. Brown will now be hoping his body can remain in good health for the tail end of the season as Vitesse currently sit sixth and are fighting for a Europa League placing.
