Man City 'set to fine to Walker after sex party with escorts during lockdown'

Kyle Walker is facing a hefty fine from Manchester City after becoming the latest Premier League player to breach lockdown instructions.

The defender apologised on Sunday after holding a sex party with two escorts last Tuesday. It emerged the pair — who it is claimed were paid £2,200 — had been invited to Walker's rented Cheshire property.

Jack Grealish flouted Government instructions last week and was fined by Aston Villa after attending a party at a former team-mate's flat, with the money donated to a hospital charity in Birmingham.

City have taken a dim view of Walker's indiscretion, which allegedly took place hours before he formed part of a plea for the public to follow social distancing measures to ease the burden on the NHS.

Walker, 29, said: 'I want to take this opportunity to issue a public apology for the choices I made last week. I understand my position as a professional footballer brings the responsibility of being a role model. As such, I want to apologise to my family, friends, football club, supporters and the public for letting them down.'

A City spokesman said: 'Footballers are global role models and our staff and players have been working to support the incredible efforts of the NHS and other key workers in fighting the effects of Covid-19, in any way we can.

'Kyle's actions in this matter have directly contravened these efforts. We are disappointed to hear the allegations, note Kyle's swift statement and apology, and will be conducting an internal disciplinary procedure.'
