Marotta: Serie A is not a two-horse race

Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta believes the Scudetto race is wide open and will discuss the future of coach Massimiliano Allegri soon.

The Bianconeri leapfrogged Napoli at the summit of the Serie A table after a resounding 4-0 win over Chievo at the Stadio Bentegodi.

“I do not think it’s a two-horse race with Napoli,” Marotta told Premium Sport.

“Inter, Roma and Fiorentina are as equipped as us for the title.

“It’s still a long season, so there is time and there are enough points to compete for.”

Recent reports have suggested that Allegri is being lined up to replace Guus Hiddink at Chelsea, but the Juve director says he is no rush to extend the Italian’s contract.

“Allegri has all the credentials to coach Juventus still for so many years,” Marotta added.

“At the moment, however, a move away is not a concern.

“That contract is only a formal aspect, that is no problem.”
