Mexican top flight side Atletico Zacatepec have retained Ghanaian defender Jacob Akrong for the 2019 season despite a massive clear out.
The former Liberty Professional player has been impressive for the club since joining them from Spanish side Palamos.
Zacatepec have cut-off eight top players from their roaster after an underwhelming season.
Among the players to have left the sugarcane team are Alfonso Rippa, Juan "Cheche" Hernández, Luis Márquez, Kevin RamÃrez, Ãscar Macias, Abraham de Jesús Torres Nilo, Gerson MarÃn and Mario Quezada, as well as those announced more than 10 days , like Ronaldo Cisneros and Josué Lázaro, who left for Chivas.
Meanwhile, the players that have been retained for preseason includes Ghanaian defender Jacob Akrong, VÃctor Hugo Hernández, Juan Orozco, Diego Cortés, Carlos Zamora, Andrés RamÃrez, the morelense of Pedro Amaro de Jojutla Ãngel Gaspar, Marco Argüelles, Kevin Magaña, Jonathan Valdivia, Ãngel López , Rodrigo Izquierdo and Facundo Taborda.
