Sulley Muntari’s desire to prove his doubters wrong will ensure he emerges an instant hit at AC Milan says Massimiliano Allegri.
The Ghana midfielder scored on his debut for the Rosseneri in their 3-1 Serie-A win over Cesena on Sunday.
The Milan manager, Allegri thus believes the 27-year-old is primed to put his torrid year or so at city rivals, Inter firmly behind as he looks to open a new chapter in his career.
"Muntari is highly motivated, because he wants to forget the recent negative period in his career," Allegri said.
"I thought that Muntari could have had a better career because he has great qualities."
Muntari’s overall contribution in Sunday’s win was also something that excited the Milan boss.
"Besides the goal, Muntari also played well and he made good long passes and he's good with the ball at his feet."
The ex Udinese and Portsmouth midfielder's newly found joy with playing regularly will certainly boost what seemed a dwindling international career.
The talented left-footer struggled to hit his strides for Ghana at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations where the Black Stars failed in their pursuit to win a fifth African title after 30-years.
He was found suspect with his lack of stamina to last the full 90 minutes - an effect of not playing regular club football.
Hopefully this deficiency is cured with regular games under Muntari's belt at AC Milan.
