PRANDELLI PREVIEWS FIORENTINA V ROMA

Published on: 03 March 2021

Viola coach Cesare Prandelli speaks ahead of Fiorentina v Roma, Matchday 25 in Serie A.

ON CRITICISM - "There are moments when it feels like everything is over, and then after one game you're reborn. We must have a clear and direct relationship with the media - the criticism is fair for the football, not for the club. The President is working for the future. We made mistakes in the past three away games. We have to fight every single moment, we can't think we've got the job done before we've done it. We are fighting to avoid relegation. The team needs to get out of this situation. They're professional and are working well. The reaction has to happen."

ON ROMA - "We must focus on every match like it's the most important. Tomorrow we face Roma, a great club, but we don't start the game having lost already. We must face the game transforming the criticism into positive energy. All teams can drop points. We can do well against Roma, I am convinced. I want my team to play our football, taking risks. We need good results, and to do so we need to create danger."

ON INDIVIDUALS - "Callejon can absolutely be a key player for us. He is always positive. I hope tomorrow Amrabat will show he is fully part of this team. I hope he'll play quickly on the ball, and show his personality on the pitch."

ON ROCCO COMMISSO - "The President is very angry - and rightly so. He believes in this project, in this Fiorentina. We spoke like a President and a coach. He wants the team to do more, and it's also down to me to make it happen. He is angry because he has big plans for Fiorentina. Right now we need points. Positive results, that's it. But the club knows the situation has been like this for about three years, and they want to build a strong Fiorentina."
