Hiroshima: Korea Republic's Daegu FC will look to maintain their position at the top of Group F in the 2019 AFC Champions League by securing a positive result against Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Japan at the Hiroshima Athletic Stadium on Wednesday.
An Edgar Silva brace and a goal from Kim Dae-won helped Daegu defeat two-time winners Guangzhou Evergrande 3-1 on Matchday Two as they followed up their victory by the same scoreline over Melbourne Victory in perfect style.
The visitors go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw against Seongnam FC on Saturday that leaves them in fifth position in K League 1 ahead of the double header against Sanfrecce.
After suffering an opening-day defeat to Guangzhou, meanwhile, Shunki Higashi and Daiki Watari were on the scoresheet as Sanfrecce defeated Melbourne 2-1 four weeks ago.
Domestically, they are on a superb run of form and have won their past four J.League games, with Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Gamba Osaka taking them to the top of the standings.
