Roma boss seeks further improvement after Frosinone win

Published on: 30 January 2016

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti insists there is room for improvement after achieving his first win since returning to the club, with the 3-1 victory against Frosinone.

Radja Nainggolan, Miralem Pjanic and debutant Stephan El Shaarawy scored despite conceding before half time to Daniel Ciofani.

“The one thing that sticks in your mind was the way the lads celebrated at the end, it was special,” Spalletti told Mediaset Premium.

“We are trying to play better, to win like today is great for morale but the fans will expect more as they’re used to great football.”

This is the first win for Spalletti on his return to Rome having guided the Giallorossi to Coppa Italia triumphs in 2007 and 2008.

“The win was good but we have to improve our performance and mentality, it is important to restore clarity to the side,” Spalletti added.

“We need to give Edin Dzeko better service, I took him off because [Francesco] Totti needed game time, who played well.

“We did everything a bit better today, we have managed to get a lot of things going again.”

Roma move five points ahead of AC Milan in fifth and keep up the pressure on Inter and Fiorentina.
