Roma wingback pursued by Barcelona

La Liga giants Barcelona are continuing their pursuit of Roma fullback Alessandro Florenzi.

The versatile Italian impressed at the capital club last season and his exploits have caused the Blaugrana to shift their focus back to the 25-year-old.

As per Marca journalist Carlos Escolan, the pending loss of right-back Dani Alves to Juventus has reignited the club’s interest in the utility player, after the two parties were previously linked in November.

Florenzi, who has also been approached by Manchester United, is one of several right-backs that Barca are reportedly pursuing, including Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin and Valencia’s Joao Cancelo.

The Giallorossi youth product made 25 appearances as a right-back this past season and a further seven appearances as a central midfielder, tallying seven goals and three assists in 42 total matches across all competitions for the Lupi.
