Swiss giants FC Basel are reported to be close to signing highly-rated Ghana youth ace Issahaku Fatawu for a fee of $1 million.
Fatawu became a household name in Ghana following his swashbuckling performance in the just ended U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
The budding attacker was adjudged the Most Valuable Player at the tournament after helping the West African nation clinch the title.
Fatawu has hogged attention from a host of top European clubs due to his display in the competition.
Reports in the Ghanaian media indicate that FC Basel are keen to acquire the youngster for a whooping amount of $1 million.
The St. Jakob Stadium outfit are said to be willing to pay an initial amount of â¬500,000 and the balance of â¬500,000 when the fast-rising Steadfast attacker attains 18 years.
Per the reports, the 17-year-old will earn up to â¬30,000 a month after when he finally sign professional deal next year.
Fatawu, who is a dominant left-handed forward, can operate as a central, attacking midfielder and a winger.
