Tamale: Black Stars captain Andre Ayew donates to support combat against the spread of coronavirus

Across the world, people are grappling with the growing COVID-19 pandemic. Deaths due to the coronavirus have soared in advanced countries as hospitals try to manage high demands and lack of supplies.

In Ghana, panic levels are high, with health officials advising Ghanaians to practice social distancing and take extra precautions to protect their health. Two of Ghana's biggest cities have been on lockdown since Monday, 30 March all in a bid to stop the rate at which this pandemic is accelerating.

Most major sporting events including the Ghana Premier League, National Women League, have been canceled to protect vulnerable, individuals.

Thankfully, fear hasn’t stopped people from giving back to their communities and inspiring us all in these scary times.

From acts of kindness to major donations that will help reduce the pandemic, Black Stars and Swansea City star, Andre Dede Ayew has donated hand sanitizers and other health equipment in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak.

About 4,000 sanitizers, washing stands, soaps and tissues were provided at various bus stations, Chiefs palaces, market places and some sports centres in Tamale. These items were also donated to individuals in the central market to help reduce the widespread of the coronavirus.
