Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan has described former Inter Milan star Thiago Motta as his point of reference during his formative years, but intimated that he would like have Sami Khedira's tactical proficiency.

Duncan began his career at Inter Milan in 2010 before graduating to the first team two years later.

One particular player that Ghana international looked up to during his formative years at the club was former Italy midfielder Thiago Motta.

Motta was with the Nerazzurri during the period, when they won the treble, before spending the final part of his career with Paris Saint-Germain.

During a live Instagram on the official Viola social account, the 27-year-old midfielder spoke of some of his idols and midfielder models.

"From an early age he was Thiago Motta, he was an incredible player: I trained with him and as he kicks before I have never seen».

Duncan went on to mention Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira as the player he would take an attribute from, noting his positional awareness.

"A midfielder to whom I would steal something? At Khedira of Juve I would steal the game and insertion times: it has a hallucinatory tactical sense. It was not by chance that he was World Champion."

Duncan, who is currently on loan at Fiorentina, has played 151 minutes for the club after recovering from a hamstring injury.
