Toure harbouring goal king ambitions

Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure still believes he can emerge top scorer of the Ghana Premier League.

The Ivorian is yet to play in the second round of the league after being banished to the reserve side for going AWOL.

But the 24-year-old has been handed reprieve and has been recalled to join the first team.

Toure has scored six goals; nine less than leading scorer Emmanuel Baffour.

"You know I didn't play a lot of matches so it will be very difficult but with hard work anything can happen in football," Toure told Sunyani-based Storm FM.

"I understand the one on top now has 15 goals and I only have six but with determination who will know what can happen, maybe the nine goal difference can close after these 11 matches."

If he impresses head coach Maxwell Konadu, he could be in line for a return against Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday in the Premier League.
