The Black Stars came from behind to beat the Suger Eagles 2-1 after they had taken an early lead in the first through Yakubu Ayibeni from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute.

Ex-Chelsea Star Michael Essien got the equalizer for Ghana with just some few minutes to end the first half after heading a cross from Quincy Owusu-Abeyie.

In the second period John Mensah was red carded for hauling down Nigerian striker Osaze Odemwingie.

With eight minutes remaining the impressive Sulley Muntari's delivery was stabbed home by Agogo from close range to secure the Black Stars the win over their rivals in the quarter finals of the 2008 AFCON.
