Yahaya Mohammed ready to play anywhere for Black Stars

Yahaya Mohammed will be happy to play wherever coach Kwesi Appiah wants him to in the Black Stars.

The 24-year-old was a surprised inclusion in Kwesi Appiah’s provisional 26-man squad expected to begin pre-tournament camping in Dubai next month.

The inclusion of the on-loan Asante Kotoko player, adds to a glittering array of midfield talents in the team.

Competition for places looks set to be fierce among the squad, with the midfielder laying down a marker of his talent by scoring 9 goals in ten matches for newly promoted Amidaus Professionals in the Ghana Premier League

The former Tema Youth man says he will not insists on his preferred midfield role, and is sure he can make an impact regardless of where he is asked to play.

“I am ready to play in any position. Wherever the coach asked me to play, I will be ready for it,” Mohammed told Accra-based Happy FM

“I have come into the Black Stars to stay. I like challenges and as a player you must aspire for greatness.

“I am not bothered by the names in the team. When I get the opportunity I will prove myself."

Mohammed is a versatile player having played in different positions in the past.

He can play as a central defender, midfielder or used as an auxiliary striker.
