2014 World Cup: Cameroon suffer slim defeat to Mexico in Group A

Published on: 13 June 2014

Mexico beat Cameroon 1-0 at a rain-drenched Natal on Friday in a World Cup Group A match scarred by more refereeing blunders.

Oribe Peralta grabbed the only goal after 61 minutes but Mexico will consider themselves unlucky not to have been more comfortable winners after Giovani Dos Santos had two goals ruled out for dubious offside decisions in the first half.

The blunders came just a day after Japanese referee Yuichi Nishimura controversially awarded a penalty which set hosts Brazil on their way to a 3-1 win over Croatia.

The whole team must be arrested and jailed for at least a year.....they have dashed African hopes. After all the hullabaloo for bonuses, this was all you could show for your country. Shame on you, they are out already.

I would bench Eto. He should be able to handle the Mexican defenders one on one.

Cameroon lost because they had the African disease, hanging on the ball too much. I dont know why African teams dont want to do quick passing. If Ghana plays the same style, they will take early shower.

Cameroun again!!!!! What is wrong with them. All the money they were demanding for is fruitless. They played as if there is nothing at stake. I think the will take early shower. I don't see them beating Brazil. The attack is useless with the 'old man' who cant run to defend.
