Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has consoled teammate Jerry Akaminko who has been ruled out of the World Cup due to injury.

Akaminko was stretchered off late on in Saturday's friendly against the Netherlands after landing awkwardly from an aerial challenge.

Ghana’s doctors confirmed he fractured his ankle and will not be available to make the final 23-man squad to Brazil.

Essien, who missed the last World Cup in South Africa, empathized with the Eskisehirspor player.

“Very sad about Jerry's injury.Get well soon. We are with you. Stay strong bro!!!,” Essien posted on his official Twitter page.

Akaminko has travelled to the USA with the Black Stars squad and is set to undergo surgery.

So guys what are you asking AA to write? You guys started this writing issue because you simply saw Van Gaal taking notes am I lying? And how do you know if Professor Mintah or any of the technical team also takes note too? You people were comparing AA+Van Gaal and that's not right. AA had a game plan. He executed it perfectly. He wanted to test our B defenders and Goalkeeper cos as it stands we don't know our Number 1 GK. AA playing Two defensive midfielders(Essein+Rabiu) meant he wanted to soak pressure and see how it pans out and Kwarasey emerged best! Had kwarasey flopped we would have seen Dauda. And also we had the materials to win the game AA didn't want to win simple as that. If you doubt check the 2nd half performance with the introduction of 3 players.

We will beat the Netherlands when we meet them in Brazil. The scoreline would have been different if we had paraded our full squad with the match played on a neutral ground.

Get well soon man.A real shame. SpellBound's favourite player Sumaila, seems to have escaped the drop, wow, neither the man nor the ball gets pass him,he cleanses everything outright, what a player, ahaha. He needs to calm down and use his speed to marshal attackers. There is also an inherent lack of communication in the team, both on the pitch and well as in the dugout.Van Gaal was always exchanging words with Kluivert but you never saw AA and Konadu communicating and this isn't the first time,I have realised this, they need to be talking and exchanging notes. Isn't Sam Arday part of the technical team? Whats Stephen Appiiah's role? From what I saw yesterday, there is definitely some potential in the team to do well,it all will depend on the coach, his technical acumen as well as support he gets from his staff. The coach his assistant and technical staff should be communicating more.

Testing players is the goal of the coach not a game plan. Game plan would be more specific than that. Just my two cents. I think any player cut who did not get at least 30 minutes vs. the Dutch, say Accam or Wakaso should be rightly pissed. As it stands Akaminko, Adomah, and Inkoom/Schlupp. Anyone who says Essien or Jordan needs thier head checked.

John Boye should be made the leader or the focal point of our defence. His role,is to marshal the backline. As the focal point, the whole backline moves with him.If he drops they drop,if he step out(offside trap) the whole backline moves with him.The only way to beat these clever European and South American strikers.

Am surprised. Is it By force for a player who has been sub from a match to watch the game ? To be precise a test match? Also I understand your frustrations because you're a FAN. The game was executed very well, Test our defence and Goalkeeping with Holland Potent attacking players. And if you don't see this then I don't know what else you'll see again. Winning wasn't an Option for AA he didn't go there to win or draw or lose. He tried his B players and now he has seen their mistakes.

Troy who creat the tactics? is it not the coach, so why would Proh Mintah be the tactics tweaker? Man how long have you been watching soccer? Cos its the first to hear that any one apart from the coach tweaks and asseses tactics. He sure does get help but thats the reason for hiring a coach to develop and tweak tactics....

Opinion are like nose everyone has one.Just like the bible you can interpret any way to suit.If yesterdays play was a game plan, then l think,it was excuted badily.AA has decided on Dauda as his number one according to,so testing Kwarasey is neither here or there. One embarrassment was Essien.A deputy captain had his back facing the match.AA had to scream at J.M to replace AKAMINKO because they were interested in themselves chatting than watching their mates playing. Why didn't AA replace Adomah to give ACCAM some playing time? l hope AA recognises the lapses in our play and rectify the cracks,There will be no chance to make amends when the game starts. I am gutted for Akaminko.

Troy and Edem, do you know why coaches like Mourinho sells players like Mata and probably Harzard, because they don't fit into a game plan. You test players based on a game plan. Edem you mean to say a coach who has two weeks for his first world cup game will put players on the pitch without a game plan and just see how they perform? That's silly because even training camps are based on fine tuning game plans. What we played Troy was not a game plan. What tactics was used in the defense, how was the midfield wased to feed the forwards? how was the midfield used to help the defense. I have watched the game twice( watching now again) and honestly there was no game plan or if there was , it failed from first minute till Ayew came in with Boateng and Afful. under previous coaches we had a terrible one goal project plan, but at least there was a plan. In all our previous games , win or lose we saw the one goal project being executed. This was no plan. what formation did we play again?
