2016/17 GHPL WEEK 19 BEST XI: Hans Kwoffie hit brace as magical Dennis Badiwon saves Bolga All Stars

AshGold continued their undefeated run in their last five games thanks to Hans Kwoffie who hit a brace to hand Inter Allies a 3-0 defeat at the Len Clay Stadium.

Bolga All Stars goalie Dennis Badiwon was as crafty as a diving cat in the sticks for the home side as they picked a point against in-form and table toppers WAFA.

AshGold trainer C.K. Akonnor emerged the coach of the week for masterminding his side’s 3-0 win over Inter Allies.

  1. Dennis Badiwon (GK) – Bolga All Stars: Emerging the player of the match, WAFA deputy coach had this to say about Dennis. ‘After making over five top class saves, no player deserved the best player award better.”
  2. Caleb Amakwah – WAFA: The WAFA right back continued his superb performance for the leaders and proved a valuable asset for them when Bukari Ibrahim got injured in the 75th He played as a center back for the remaining 15 minutes.
  3. Rolan Amuzu – AshGold: Amuzu contributed immensely to The Miners’ 3-0 win over Inter Allies. His surging runs were admirable and his crossing, apt.
  4. Ahmed Adams – Adams splendid show against defending champions Wa All Stars earned him the player of the match.
  5. Theophilus Ogoe – Tema Youth: For Tema Youth, they had Ogoe to thank for their solitary win over Aduana Stars. He was a real definition of a defender and scored the only goal of the game for his side.
  6. Moro Salifu – Bechem United: As a holding midfielder, Moro was just a replica of Michael Essien in his hey days. He emerged man of the match after his magnificent show. He shielded his defence well and tailored the midfield with utter perfection.
  7. Zakaria Mumuni – Aduana Stars: Probably the most in-form winger in the Ghana Premier League. Zakaria gave the Tema Youth side a hell of a time. He was smart, swift and his dribbling skills, super. Despite his side losing, his head was up.
  8. Majeed Ashmeru – WAFA: The main tormentor of the Bolga All Stars side. He initiated all the WAFA attacks and came close to scoring on a couple of times but for the excellence of Dennis Badiwon.
  9. Amed Toure – Bechem United: Toure took his tally to 8 with a superb finish against Medeama. He provided leadership for the home side and his inspiration earned them a point.
  10. Hans Kwoffie – AhsGold: He scored twice and emerged man of the match. Does he need anything more to earn him a place in the team of the week?
  11. Thomas Abbey – Hearts: He scored one of Hearts’ two goals to pick all three points for the Phobians and took his tally to 8.
