Ghana striker Jordan Ayew believes the Black Stars deserve the plaudits for a solid performance in the 1-0 friendly win over Togo on Monday.

The Lorient goal poacher was a second half substitute as debutant Bernard Mensah’s 36th minute goal separated the two sides at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ayew admitted the players had to adjust to play some delightful football which put Togo to the sword.

”I think the guys did well. It was not easy playing because of the weather. We did well. We are preparing and on progress for Sunday’s game against Mauritius in the Nations Cup qualifiers,” the 23-year-old said in a post-match interview.

Ayew scored 12 goals in the just ended French Ligue 1 which helped Lorient to stay afloat.

He is expected to start in Sunday’s qualifier against Mauritius at the Accra Sports Stadium.
