Afobe: \'I did my best\'

Bournemouth's Benik Afobe is said to be hurt by former club Wolves' claim that he was not trying during his final months in the Midlands.

After his £9m move to the Cherries in the January transfer window, Wolves head of football development and recruitment Kevin Thelwell commented that, 'Benik was no longer trying to play for us. He was undermining everything we were trying to achieve.'

Afobe responded on Twitter, 'I wasn't going to comment but this is too shocking and very hurtful'. The 22-year-old also added, 'I did my best. It was hard for us all. I asked to leave but only because I wanted to play in the Premier League, but I never told my team-mates or disrupted the changing room.'
