Akaminko dismisses return to Ghana league

Posted On Friday, 3rd December 2010

Ghanaian defender Jerry Akaminko has rubbished reports linking him with a return to the Ghana Premier League in Ghana.

The former Heart of Lions libero has stated he is content at Turkish side Orduspor where he has played 55 league matches.

“I was surprised when I heard the news that I was returning to play in the Ghana league from my brother,” Akaminko told Happy FM Sports. “I can say for a fact that there is nothing like Jerry returning to play in the Ghanaian top flight league.”

Akaminko was a member of the Ghana Under-17 team that lost to Gambia in the final of the 2005 African Under-17 Championship.

His contract with the Turkish 2 Ligi A side expires in May 2011.
