Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has told The Sun he believes Swansea City have landed a major bargain in Andre Ayew.

Ayew has enjoyed a terrific start to the season, recently scoring a crucial goal in a home win over Manchester United.

The Ghanaian international has three goals in his opening four games, already proving excellent value for money as a free transfer.

Henry was full of praise for Ayew. He told The Sun: "I think the signing of the summer could be Swansea’s Andre Ayew.

"They got him on a free from Marseille and he is really good. He will score goals, is not a typical winger, will get into the box and is lethal in the air, even though he is not tall."

Swansea beat off competition from several Premier League sides to land Ayew, and are reaping the reward.

Talksport reported early in the summer that Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham were both interested in the forward, along with Italian giants Roma.

Ayew would have slotted in well for either side, but at Swansea he is helping get the best out of last season's free addition Bafetimbi Gomis.

The best thing about Ayew is due to his early impact he would be in the conversation for signing of the summer regardless at this point, but the fact he was acquired on a free makes his addition look even better.
