Assistant coach John Paintsil won his first silverware as Kaizer Chiefs beat perennial rivals Orlando Pirates 2-0 to win 2-0 to win the Carling Black Label Champion Cup title at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Paintsil came up against compatriots Edwin Gyimah, who played the entire duration for the losing side, and new signing Bernard Morrison, a 76th minute substitute.

Erick Mathoho and Lewis Macha scored the goals for the AmaKhosi who deserved the win.

Paintsil was appointed deputy coach to Steve Komphela last month in a shock move.
