Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo is considering whether to give Albert Adomah his first start against Newcastle United on Saturday.

The pacy winger made a cameo debut in the side's 0-0 stalemate at Ipswich Town last weekend.

The Ghana international is pushing for his first start and manager Di Matteo is looking at the possibility of drafting the Ghanaian in his starting X1.

“I’m very pleased he has made his debut and I expect him to create chances for the team.

“He has good skills, is good in one-on-one situations, and he can provide good crossing into the box.

“He’s also a happy team character who has fitted in well.”
