Berekum Chelsea striker Saddick Adams has played down talks of winning the goal king in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League insisting it’s not his target.

Saddick, 27, has scored four goals in seven matches in the Ghana Premier League and many believe that he can win the goal king.

But the supersonic striker has declined.

According to the clinical finisher, helping Berekum Chelsea to a respectable position in the league is more important to him than winning the goal king.

“If I win the goal King and Chelsea is relegated, my goal king is useless,” he said.

The former Black Starlets and AshGold striker admits that it is the dream of every striker to score goals but he has a different dream this season despite scoring four goals in seven matches.

“Although I have scored four goals but I must say goal scoring is not my target. I wouldn’t say I have taken the season by storm. I am just working harder,” Saddick told GHANAsoccernet.com

“Even though everyone is expecting a striker to score, goal scoring is not my target. I think it will be useless for me to score for my team to lose a game.

So even though scoring is good, I am just working hard to make sure Berekum Chelsea will be in a good position after the season,” he added.
