Ghana and Blackpool goalkeeper Richard Kingson suffered a nasty head injury during their Premier League clash with Sunderland on Saturday.

Blackpool lost their goalkeeper shortly after the break after he made some excellent saves for the club against the visiting side.

But Kingson was replaced by Paul Rachubka in the 56th minute after sustaining a cut to the head when diving bravely at the feet of Bolo Zenden.

Blackpool lost the game 2-1 and Kingson conceded both goals even though he was excellent.

He is not expected to be out of action for long as he was able to visit his compatriot Asamoah Gyan in the visitors’ dressing room after the game.
