Ghana's Under-20 team are expected to play China in an international friendly to inaugurate the newly constructed Cape Coast stadium.

The Chinese embassy in Accra have confirmed a planned friendly against their Ghanaian counterpart at the 16,000 capacity multi-purpose brand new stadium.

The stadium was constructed by Chinese firm Jiangxi Cooperation for International Economic and Technical Cooperation.

The Chinese government granted 33 million U.S. dollars for the construction of the stadium which has facilities such as a natural green grass football pitch, an eight-lane tartan track, outdoor courts for handball and basketball, a boxing training court, a press conference hall, and media room, among others, for sports training and events.

The Black Satellites have begun camping ahead of the impending friendly tie.

Ghana is hoping to qualify for the Africa youth championship in Zambia as well as the FIFA U-20 world cup in South Korea, both scheduled for next year.

Ghana is the only African side to have annexed the FIFA U-20 World Cup trophy in 2009.
